making music for headphones or car is illegal in my opinion. always make the best recording must be the baseline.
I wish some of the albums I love were recorded/mixed with such a system ❤
❤🧡💛💚💙💜 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Outstanding.
PS AUDIO is all in one platform for every music lovers... Big Thanks to Respected Paul Sir...
Imagine having The room The speakers The gear That your music was mixed and mastered with. Drool, drool. The best thing about this series is that it shows it's possible for those of the means to have it. No shade intended to those who are. I'm happy for them. I do have to wonder though, is that R2R a studio queen used as an art piece or is it an active participant when needed?
Paul, well done Sir...❤️🎶
cheers
I went to Octive Records last night & was surprised that you kind of have a radio program with a female DJ that played tracks & would pop in now & again & say who she played. I bluetoothed it for quite a while as I was trying an experimental art painting. Even for BT, the sound was incredible & I heard a lot of new good music as well. Very nice.
You have a perfect Tri-Fecta in your studio presentation. Super times 3.
Where is the cocaine and LSD room??
What about the break room must be lush to cater to the comforts of the crew and the musicians. ?
Very very interesting. Looks absolutely amazing. Quick thought, if you put the microphones above the cymbals and drums and the sticks hit them from above will that mean the first movement of the drive units will be back ???
SECOND COMMENT!
This discussion is truly captivating! It's like a journey through the cosmos of intellect and insight.👅
Nice setup...👍
Snake oil, smoke and mirrors
Immensely enjoyed this, thanks Paul!
I love the dound of the B3 and Fender Rhodes. 9:54 In my late teens early 20s I used to service Rhodes, B3s and Leslie cabinets, VOTTs and Revox reel to reels and McIntosh amps......ahhh, the memories ❤
Re all German mics - looks like you might have a Royer 121 in there, Paul - on the stand front of the shot at the end of the video?
Class D reputation suffered because of the cheap, badly made ones commonly found in mini-systems or Chi-Fi.
👍
does he do a better job? amir proved that your dac is weak😂
why did your dac perform so poorly in Amir's tests
They can actually be more useful if they are used to display the input signal level on a pre-amp in decibels.
Get to the point mate, stop faffing around!
All the great tracking rooms are not dead. Sunset sound is very live, Appogee Studios, Capitol had live rooms, and Aspen's Place has a very nice live tracking room. They are just controlled so as to not have bad buildup and such. And not too live either.
Part 1 showed what looked like a Vari-Mu below a summing amp/mixer. Is that for sending to mixdown?
The brand of the drum set....??? (Drummers like to know!)
The mate just didn't considered that the recording was made in a live session, which is the way it usually happens at Octave Records
5:48, you'd have to quantify that somehow. Woo woo descriptions.
If the mic is above the cymbals or drums the phase is inverted already. Presuming you hit down on them. Oh dear.
Thank Paul (btw my name is "Paul" , too) -> btw Love the nice figured at the start of the video - Any Infos about this and where you get this. PS: Pyramix DAW is nice^:)
tracking room = 'the studio'.
What i meant to say is you are a good block you are the only guy that's mentioned this And I agree its a very important little topic you can do so much with just one good AMP that's got good sounds and A lot of prey out
Try Austrian Audio mics
It is the same exact thing to say if I put a better power cord on my TV it will look better. Complete and utter nonsense and you know it, Paul.
M from Australia forgive my spelling 那but you good you have any block that seven mentioned this and I reckon is pretty god damn important
splitting the prey outI already piggyback spl item whatever it works but what i can't find the answer to and at the end of your video you said something about when you split at fifteen thirty or some crap like that like that what I wanna know,Is when you split the signal do you lose quality from say using just the pre out with one rca oto using twenty from the same rca pre out t going to twenty different power amps I was always thought it was just A signal and the Power AMP caches the signal and pale as the sounds o do you lose quality if you split the prayer to multipl outs
Back in 1994 i bought a set of CR9s in Charlotte NC and i am still enjoying them today. Greetings from Bremen Germany
That's quite the rats' nest of cables on the floor! Otherwise, a wonderful set-up.
Love your little videos at just the right length. I very rarely comment on RUclips but felt I needed to on this occasion. About 30 years ago I bought a pair of speakers from a well known UK HiFi retailer and when I played them at home the image was throwing itself one way then the other to such an extent it was making me feel sick. I rang the retailer who told me to connect each one to a 9 volt battery ! I had no idea why but the cone of one of the speakers pushed out much to the shock of the retailers local engineer. He said they were wired 'out of phase' at the factory. I had never heard the expression before then and I was unfortunate enough to be one of the few percentage of the population to be sensitive to phase issues. He rewired them for me and everything sounded fantastic, with the return of the bass and a stable central image. So when some people say it is not possible to hear, I agree, it probably isn't for them as they dont fall into the few percent category. If you can go to the 2025 Ascot show (can't make it this year) I challenge you to set up a blind demo of your speakers both in and out of phase and I will see if I am still prone to phase problems 😁RWJ
Hey Paul! We appreciate your support of Manley Labs with your 5x Manley FORCE and Manley Variable Mu Limiter Compressor on proud display! 🥰
Should we buy chinese equipment to save money?
All PS Audio products are made in China. The profit from these products built this studio.
16:44 or 24:192 cds of the same album both original master and remaster. i also used youtube straight from the artist topic channel and i hear the same acrosss original master and remaster from all 3 version and yeah hi res is complete snake oil
So, the control console provides the instructions for converting the DSD files stored on the hard drive to the analog signal sent to the FR20s. Since the one-bit DSD256 files do not support direct volume adjustment, equalization or combining of tracks, are the original DSD files converted to PCM or some other editable format to make these adjustments before the signal goes to the speakers or are the voltages created directly from the DSD tracks simply summed, after adjustment in the console, to create the analog signal sent to the speakers? Are the control panel settings used real-time only (live) to monitor what's happening in the Tracking Room or are the settings recorded in synchrony with the DSD tracts to create a recipe for the "rough mix" to serve as a starting point for the actual mixing? Thanks for clarifying.
its funny you guys covered this !! im working on an omni directional planar magnetic. i thought they sounded.. well oke. but nothing special , but i got a few persons that go mad on omni. so i give it another go ! cool to hear Chris thoughts on how you think about the old walshes ! :) and how they work
Interesting!
❤🧡💛💚💙💜 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 Thank you Paul for this great tour & for sharing all the knowledge.
The only comment: Probably better to have an absolutely neutral room decor/color. The colors in this room are overbearing and dissonant.....and I'd venture a bet these colors affect the musicians on a subconscious level as they play.
The color combo is warm, the cedar making the room feel very natural. Is it neutral? No, but I bet many musicians feel comfortable with it. A neutral gray room is too depressing for most humans.
Outstanding, thank you for sharing this world of yours. Keep up the great work!
